These are about the TKG Ultimate pickup. People who consider coming often ask these questions:
How much does it cost?
Free. Though donations are always welcome.
Can I come late/leave early?
Yes
Can beginners come?
Yes. However there are very skilled players who sometimes appear on Saturday. Feel free to throw on the side of the field or watch if you wish.
What should I bring?
If it rains/snows, will you cancel?
Yes, if the rain is moderate or heavy. Check the LINE or facebook group.
Is it OK to come with tattoos?
Yes of course.
Do you welcome non-Japanese speakers?
Yes. Many in this group speak Mandarin or English.
When do you play?
Generally from about 2:30pm to sunset, though it depends. Winter we start early, summer we start late. Specific times are usually written in the Facebook group and LINE group.
Are there weekday pickups?
Not from TKG Ultimate. Other local Japanese pickups occasionally hold weeknight pickups.
Is there car parking available nearby?
Yes. Make sure to park in the non-reserved areas
Is this some kind of dating event?
No.
Is there a competitive team?
Yes, but it's not very active. People from Kakinoki sometimes join other local teams for competitions.
We get asked these questions all the time. Frisbee isn't as widely known in Japan as North America.
What is a "frisbee"?
It's a disk that can fly when thrown properly. Looks almost like a plate but upside down.
Isn't frisbee for dogs?
No. People play it with each other quite often.
How do you get a point?
There is a field with two goal areas. The team on offense must catch the frisbee in this area. Once they catch in the goal area, they get a point.
What are the rules?
