Wild Cat and the "Sunday Pickup"

"Wild Cat" also known as 野良猫 (ye liang mao), was a pickup group organized by participants of Kitasenju frisbee in november 2023.

At the time, the Saturday pickup would occasionally see over 40 participants. Thus, A and B saw the need to divide the participants among 2 days.

In TKG Frisbee, newcomers and veterans play on the field together, which at times causes friction. Competitive players feel frustrated at the lack of skill of newer players, and newcomers feel too intimidated so will not play.

Wild Cat was built partially to accomodate the large amount of beginners.

Focus

Wild Cat would occur on Sunday, and would cater more to new comers. Besides frisbee, they also organized events like snowboarding and karaoke.

One core difference was TKG was built purely out of the desire to play frisbee, however Wild Cat seemed to be part of a larger group of general events organized by people part of an organization. Some speculated the general vibe was more business-like.

Disbanding

As of October 2025, Wild Cat is believed to have disbanded due to low member count. Although the organizer has not been around for some time, many former members and a few from Saturday's pickup have filled the gap and tend to organize pickups on Sunday.

Many of the Sunday players seem to enjoy playing frisbee and building a small community, so it shares similarities to Saturday's vibe. Also, as of March 2026, it is said there are too many participants on saturday's pickup, so there has been a stronger effort to shift players to Sunday.
